A holiday tradition no one asked for.
For this series, I used generative AI to craft 19 delightfully uncomfortable Christmas images—each one a strange blend of nostalgia, absurdity, and low-key existential dread. From uncanny carolers to gift-wrapped glitches, the Advent Calendar of Discomfort explores the weird side of holiday cheer, where tradition meets tech and things get… unsettling.
Each image was prompted and curated with intention (and maybe a little absurdity), using AI not just as a tool, but as a collaborator in discomfort. Consider it my festive rebellion against stock-photo perfection and Pinterest-ready holiday moodboards.
2024 accidental themes: I used a lot of meat for the images. We were also deep in the throes of New Jersey drone mayhem, so that made an appearance as well.
